The coastal area generally is divided into three main regions, each specializing in a particular crop.Cukurova, the large coastal plain, situated in southern Turkey around Adana, produces about 70 percent of Turkey’s total citrus crop, including more than 90 percent of the grapefruit, about 90 percent of the lemons and about 60 percent of the oranges and tangerines. Adana is also the main grapefruit and mandarin producing province.
